The Centre for Extra-Mural Studies, University of Mumbai has been organising 'Monsoon Nature Trails' for past ten years. The trails are arranged at reserved part of Sanjay Gandhi Borivali National Park on every Monsoon Sunday. It is a rich experience to observe the plants and other life in Monsoon, the season in which mother earth is covered in unlimited shades of green.

Various fungi, creepers, climbers, bulbs sprouting after a long sleep, some grasses, can only be observed in monsoon. Multicolored butterflies, moths, spiders, amphids, flies, bugs and beetels add to the glory of the green. Each one of these have an identity, - a personality. It is a joy to learn about them from experts.

The Extra-Mural Nature trails have six experts for a batch of 60 participants. Two experts from each disciline, - botany and zoology and ayurveda. An extensive list of flora and fauna observable on the trail, with their latin, local and Sanskrit names is also given to the participants. In last ten years more than 2,000 people have participants in these trails. You too are welcome for this trail of joy.

The trail proves to be very helpful to people in general and students of Botany, Biotechnology and Ayurveda in particular.
