The sky above city Varanasi was clouded on 21st July.We were sceptical about 22nd July's big show.

So we planned to see something more. A Tree Fossil Park at Salkan - 110 kms off Varansi was our distination. The rocks which are seen in the photograph are called Tree Fossils and are scattered over around 25 acers, a small hillock. There is a small coal field closely. The whole terrain is rocky. Very interesting and unique rock formations.

We were very happy to see these tree fossils dating back to 11 million years. Better than any temple at Varanasi !
